Add Stencils And Apply Etching Cream

Cover a table with newspaper and put on a pair of rubber gloves before opening the etching cream. The cream will permanently alter the appearance of porous surfaces and contains chemicals which could harm your skin. Use a couple pieces of tape to attach a stencil to a bottle that depicts the label that you desire. Use a foam brush to apply etching cream to the cut out portion of the stencil. Make sure that the stencil is filled in evenly.

The etching cream will take several minutes to work. It will give the design a frosty appearance that looks different than the rest of the glass. Rinse the etching cream off the bottle with a sponge. Continue rinsing the sponge out and wiping off the bottle until all traces of the etching cream have been eliminated. Dry the newly etched design with a lint free cloth. Carefully remove the stencil. Add the etched design to the remaining bottles in the same manner.

Create Gift Tags

Use a template online to create a design for the gift tags. Many templates are available to use for free. Insert a piece of label paper in your printer before printing out the labels. Place a label around the neck of each bottle. Fill in the recipients name and your name on each one. Cut pieces of decorative ribbon that are a couple feet long. Tie one around each bottle and create bows with them.

Another way to dress up the bottles is by cutting pieces of self-adhesive trim. Peel off the paper backing and press the trim around the part of the bottle that you are embellishing. Add the ketchup to the bottles. Give them away to your family members and friends. Each person who receives one of the special bottles of homemade ketchup will appreciate your creativity and will think of you each time that they use the ketchup.
